This past Sunday I had the chance to visit an English church at the waterfront of Wan Chai. I wasn't expecting anything, but the size of congregation surprises me - more than 500 people worship at the service. They rented a huge exhibition hall inside HK Exhibition and Convention Centre, which I have never been to. I have to walk for about 5 minutes to the hall after I entered the entrance, you can imagine how deep the place is.
The worship music was great as a few very talented worship leaders were on-stage. The lead singer is so talented I wonder if she is actually a recording artist. The rest of the band is great as well. The songs they chose are good worship songs and everyone in the congregation are very into the worship mood. Here I am talking world-class quality compared to the worship leaders in the states. And these folks are head-to-head as good.
Pastor talks about John 7 - Jesus healing the man who crippled who cannot get himself to the water for 38 straight years. It is a good reminder to myself as I wait for His providing with the right job. Waiting sometimes is a painful process. But when I know that God has prepared the right one for me the wait is always worth it. Good things happen to those who wait - always true no matter where I apply to life.
The church reminds me of Great Exchange CC at Sunnyvale in California. But ECC is more international, a little more traditional in the teachings, and to me I can get into the worship better.
