My local McDonald's recently had a 'facelift' - adding a children playground to attract more family with kids to eat there. It worked amazingly well.
Today it is the first time for me to visit this renewed fast food store. The car-park was 95% full which I have never seen before. The first thing that caught my eye after I entered are the revamped seatings and tables. It looks much more comofrtable than before. Then there is the 2-storey children playground. So many kids are inside playing. And then there are a lot of kids all over the restaurant as well, like a mini amusement park. They also installed a few 42" plasma TV with news broadcasting, so parents can watch news when their kids are eating and playing.
One funny thing is that on the same table that I was sitting at, several 2-3 year olds are eating with their mom. Then two big construction workers with mustache and muscles sat at the same table. One of the workers said to the mom, "your daughter is looking at ME!" and pretended to be shy. They all laughed. One of the good things about McDonald's is the ability to attract different kinds of customers to eat. I mean, *really* different customers :D
The Big Mac I ordered, though, tastes kind of the same :) At least they didn't do a price hike!
