While I was surfing SourceForge.net (a web repository which features a lot of very useful opensource software), I came across a software utility called 7-Zip. It claims it can compress a file 30%-50% better than regular Zip utility. Out of curiosity (and work associated as well), I downloaded a copy and tried it out. I compressed a 26M database backup file. First I used the regular Zip and compressed it to a 4MB file. Then I used 7-Zip. I got down to 2MB! The compression time is a bit slower (1 minute) compared to regular Zip (20 sec). But the result is impressive. If you don't mind waiting a bit longer to compress a file this is very good utility to super-compress your big files. Give it a spin. The web site is http://www.7-zip.org
So this is it. Not really big deal actually, but big deal to me. Yes! I bought a hammer key keyboard online with an incredible price! And I've since practicing piano. I decided to buy this piano because I wnat to do something else besides always staring at either computer screen or TV screen when I am at home. I have been missing piano for a while since I moved out from parent's place, and I'e been planning to get one. Just happens I saw this piano at a local BestBuy. Tried playing it and I was so amazed with the keys - they're just like real keys. So I searched on the web and found this amazing deal and I bought it home. Turns out to be a very decent piano. It has many functions and sounds. It has some built-in classical tunes it can autoplay. And best of all, the piano comes with a booklet with all the built-in songs' scores.
I know I've been hiding recently. Not really wanting to hide, but simply too busy with life in general. Not having time to update my blog is not a good excuse I know... Many happy things happened the past weeks. It is a time to give thanks to the Lord. And to top it off, this Friday there will be something fantastic happening. What is it? I will post and talk about it, hopefully put up some pictures as well. I am going to remain silent until this Friday the 15th.
